Last week, we found a new owner for a WordPress plugin called eRoom. It’s a webinar & meeting plugin with over 10,000 active installs. It allowed users to create and manage online meetings and webinars directly from their WP websites using Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.

At the time of the exit, eRoom had 151 paying customers and over 10,000 installations. The plugin was built using WordPress, PHP and CSS. It generated over $10,000 in annual revenue. The plugin had 5 years of revenue history and great customer reviews. From listing to exit took 37 days.

This acquisition was successful thanks to the plugin’s strong rating and proven track record. It solves a real problem for WordPress users, making it valuable on its own. Wishing the buyer a great ROI, and we’d love to see the seller list more plugins, there’s strong demand for extensions on the platform.

I’m excited to return to this newsletter. It’s been six months since the last issue. I’m in Ukraine and doing well. Thanks to everyone who reached out and asked about it.

Now it’s time to share Microns’ 2025 results and reflect on what we built this year. Honestly, it was one of the hardest years for me: electricity outages due to bombings, house renovation, and rising prices everywhere.

Still, we made solid progress and already have big plans for 2026. It will be the next stage for Microns.

📊 2025 Review

This year was transformational for Microns. We launched Offers, our biggest feature so far, which allowed us to integrate the transfer process directly into the marketplace and make transactions much more seamless.

We launched Offers at the end of March and received our first offer in early April. Giving us roughly 8 months of operational data. In that time, we facilitated $200k+ in acquisitions. For context: 2023 GMV: ~$50k, 2024 GMV: ~$100k. Seeing this growth makes the 9 months of development totally worth it.

More importantly, our user base grew quickly thanks to product improvements, great support, and focused marketing. Many buyers and sellers return to the marketplace and share their success stories with me. I always enjoy reading them and seeing how Microns helps founders globally.

This year subscription revenue grew slightly after we launched monthly plans. Many users switched from annual to monthly, so yearly subscriptions stagnated. In my view, the annual plan is still undervalued because finding the right micro-startup to acquire often takes 6 months or more. Hopefully we’ll see more long-term buyers joining the marketplace.

Our biggest growth driver was the Transfer service we built during 2024. Revenue from it grew from $5k in 2024 to $20k in 2025. Glad to see the bet paying off. I carefully review user feedback, and many buyers and sellers say it’s now much easier and faster to close deals directly on the platform.

Last week, we helped to sell a newsletter called WalkMan AI. It’s a curated AI and technology newsletter that delivers weekly insights, product updates, and analysis for professionals.

At the time of the exit, WalkMan AI had 92,000 subscribers, 38% open rate, and 1% CTR. The newsletter was built using Beehiiv. And generated around $300 via sponsorships. The startup was acquired for $20,500 in just 22 days.

At the end of the transaction we ask to leave a review. Here’s what we got:

It’s been over a month, but I really wanted to wait until we launched our new chat to share the news. I hope you’ve had some rest and are ready to dive back into work, because we’ve got plenty of exciting things happening.

We recently sold a web app called Dropcomments. This platform helped agencies collect feedback during review rounds.

At the time of the exit, Dropcomments had 70 users, 9 customers and $500 in TTM revenue. It was built using Cloudflare, Vue.js, Supabase. The startup was acquired for $2,000. This is a large market, countless agencies and freelancers need an easy way to collect feedback once development is done.

📈 Monthly update

July was solid, though a bit slower as many people took vacations. We closed 5 startup sales worth $17k. While gross revenue dipped slightly compared to June, it’s still 25% higher than last year. August is already showing stronger momentum with more Premium subscriptions and offers coming in.

We launched Chat v2. A complete under-the-hood rebuild that fixes major issues like message duplication and real-time notifications. The chat now uses the full screen width for a smoother experience. We also tightened its connection with offers: there’s now a button on the left to view them, and when an offer is active, you’ll see a pinned status bar with its progress right inside the chat.

I tested it out and was really impressed by the real-time features: online/offline status and instant message delivery, just like WhatsApp. I noticed most users spend their time inside chat and often miss updates on their offers, so now every key action (new offer, payment, asset transfer) comes with a system message and an action button right in the conversation.

Even if the system messages get buried in the conversation, you’ll always see the current status in the pinned bar at the top of the chat. And the best part, you can now take offer-related actions directly from the chat without needing to open the offer page. Hope you’ll enjoy this update.

We recently sold a micro-SaaS called VBA Code Generator. This platform helped users instantly generate complex VBA codes using AI.

VBA Code Generator had 12 customers and $300 in ARR. With low expenses: $10 for hosting and OpenAI credits. It was built using Next.js, OpenAI, and MongoDB. The startup was acquired for $2,223.

The idea was born out of the frustration of manually writing repetitive Excel macros. The founder created the tool to automate this process, and over time, it began gaining traction organically through Google search.

📈 Monthly update

June was a bullish month for Microns. We sold 9 startups through the platform worth $45k and it’s twice more than it was in May. Besides that, our total gross revenue is all time high at $8,850. With such stats we will easily achieve 50% YoY growth. And I can’t be more happier.

In terms of development we’ve done many small improvements:

1. If the message is unread, a chat notification will be sent in 15 minutes instead of 1 hour.

2. Buyers and sellers can now see declined offers.

3. Automatically rejects the offer when the listing is archived or the seller chooses another offer.

4. Login and sign up redirects to the page from which you came, like the listing page.

I also received a request from one of my colleagues who I sponsored previously. The results were incredible so I booked him three times. And in June he reached out to me about selling his business, but asked to make it a private sale without listing on Microns. I agreed and created a presentation for his startup to pitch to potential buyers.

📈 Monthly updates

May was a month of improvements for us: from streamlining sign-up, upgrading the admin dashboard, refining transactional emails, and fixing dozens of small UI/UX bugs. As a result, 20% increase in new buyers completing sign-up.

In May, we closed 2 more startup sales than in April, though GMV dipped slightly. Worth noting: I haven’t counted 2 additional deals still under offer, as they haven’t been finalized yet. Aside from that, all other key metrics showed month-over-month growth.

And last but not least, we launched affiliate program and partnered with 20 creators to spread the word about Microns and earn together.

Two offers were related to YouTube channels, our buyers express interest in them and I think it’s a cool online media business. Some of the listings received offers in two days. It’s awesome how fast you can get an offer for your online business on our marketplace.

We recently sold an e-commerce store called Bergenhof Knives. This e-store provided high-quality, fairly priced kitchen knives to retailers.

Bergenhof Knives had 100 customers and $23,000 in annual revenue at the time of the exit. It was built using Shopify. The business is powered by a wholesale bulk dropshipping model, where inventory is only ordered once payment is received, and all logistics are managed by the retailers. I’m excited to officially relaunch our affiliate program. This time with clear rules and a better structure. I gave it a shot back in 2023 but didn’t really know how to set it up right, so I made some mistakes. Now I’ve learned, simplified everything, and here’s how it works:

📈 Monthly updates

April was a game-changer month for us. After releasing the "make an offer" feature, we got the first traction and closed four deals totaling $22,500 for their sellers. All founders rated Microns support with five stars, and it's the best reward for me and my team. We worked on offers for almost a year and tried to think about every detail to make this service safe, fast, and easy to use.

Besides offers, we recently added public ratings for buyers and sellers. Now, you can learn about transactions that founders made through Microns. It will increase trust and make people closer to each other by learning about their experiences. Ratings will be available to founders who completed the deal via offers.

Last but not least, you can now see revenue multiples on the listing, so you don't need to perform additional calculations to evaluate the project.

I am preparing a major update for one part of our marketplace in May. It will make the acquisition experience even smoother and more pleasant.

We recently sold an AI micro-SaaS called Edde. This web app helped students and researchers write essays and cite papers.

At the time of the exit, Edde had 2 paid customers and $480 in annual revenue. The project had a pleasant UI and many useful AI features. It was built using Next.js, Vercel, and OpenAI. The seller sold the project for $3,000.

Taimoor is one of our first sellers, and he has already sold two projects through Microns. I'm happy when sellers come back and choose our marketplace. It shows that the service we provide is excellent.

We recently sold an AI micro-SaaS called Instaglam. This web app helped people create professionally looking photos with AI.

Instaglam had 85 customers and $1,503 in annual revenue at the time of the exit. The project was created entirely via no-code tools. It was built using Xano, Weweb, Amazon S3, and Fal.ai. The seller sold the project for $6,000.

I see more and more founders leverage no-code tools and build awesome startups. For example, Aby (seller) has a YouTube channel where he shares how to use no-code tools to build web apps like Instaglam.

🥖 New premium plan

One of the most requested features was a monthly plan. In March alone, we've got 10 requests from different buyers asking for a monthly payment. Before that, I was sure we needed to keep the annual plan only because it would attract the most serious people to the marketplace. And it was true for some time.

So what changed? I analyzed many of our internal metrics and realized we need more liquidity. I calculated that we need around 50 new Premium buyers to keep the platform balanced. I figured out that we need to have more affordable conditions for buyers to achieve this.

The challenge was to keep new buyers' quality high and make annual membership more favorable. So, I tested many different prices and found that $40 per month would be the optimal value. It's more affordable to enter but more expensive long term, making the annual plan look more attractive, saving more than 38% annually.

Yesterday, I woke up at night and found that we received our first monthly payment. I was so happy. I haven't made any announcements. Just 12 hours after release and we've got our first monthly member. It's inspiring how people explore our site. We are moving in the right direction.

In this new section, I will highlight projects that just got an offer and sellers accepted it. I want to show that our marketplace works and that many awesome founders can achieve successful exits.

AI tools are trending, and many buyers either buy them to operate independently or to power up their existing businesses. In this case, the buyer who made an offer reached out to me to ask questions about how offers work on Microns. I explained that he needed to add assets, price, and his personal or company details. For the academic writing assistant app, the buyer was concerned about potential competition from the seller. So, we suggested creating a non-compete agreement where the seller can't compete for some time. 📈 Monthly update

As always, I treat my audience and customers as investors, publicly sharing our progress and metrics. March was a great month for us. We launched offers, onboarded many great sellers to the platform, and got many excellent buyers. The next step is to increase number of acquisitions.

Currently, revenue comes from subscriptions, but I hope that commission from sellers will be around the same in one year. Our growth is slow but steady. It allows us to build a better product. I have already received feedback from new users who used Flippa and Acquire before that Microns is, so far, the best platform. I'm thankful to my team for a high-quality execution.

This week, my team worked on fixing bugs and improving the platform. One of the significant bugs we fixed was uploading avatars when you create a new profile. It was essential, and I thank all users who reported the issue so we could quickly resolve it.

We reworked the loading state for listings. One slight improvement that makes the loading process look smooth. I like it. What do you think?

One of our buyers asked me: "What if the seller has a few competing offers? How will it work?". On our platform, if the seller has a few offers and they accept one, the others will be archived automatically. As a result, other buyers can't contact or make any offers during the acquisition. It will allow to secure the deal for the buyer and help the seller focus on closing the deal without any distractions from other buyers.

If the acquisition falls through, then the listing will become available again, and all Premium buyers can contact and make offers. Besides this, buyers who added the listing to the watchlist will be notified that the listing is no longer under offer, and you can discuss it with the seller.

📊 Summary of 2024

Yesterday, I received a P&L statement from my bookkeeper and was happy with the revenue growth. Microns LLC was incorporated in 2021, and during this period, our marketplace maintained 50% year-over-year income growth.

Of course, we still have pretty high expenses, but it mainly relates to design and development. We launched offers features and made many UI/UX improvements. Besides that, I reinvested half of the revenue into growth, such as SEO and sponsorships. It helps us continuously evolve and attract more founders.

But this growth wouldn't be possible without my two most important and risky decisions. First, I realized we need to move from MVP into a more sustainable product phase and rebuild the site from a directory into a marketplace. And secondly, hiring people to delegate design and development.

During 2023/2024, I hired a designer and developer from Ukraine. Why? Because of communication (we speak the same language) and quality/price balance. By hiring professionals from Ukraine, you get high quality for a mid-price tag. I'm happy working with them almost two years from now.

In one year we developed Microns v2 a completely custom and professionally looking site and platform. I launched it on Product Hunt, and we became #1 that day (thanks to my community). We've got a second wave of traction and started working on an offers feature to bring transactions into the marketplace. Earlier, we helped our customers close transactions through transfer service, a fully manual service without automation and statuses.

When we started the transfer service, we earned around $2k in the first year and around $5k in the second. Now, we have integrated this service into the platform, added a bunch of automation and statuses, and removed friction. I prognose that the commission revenue will grow at least two times this year, but we'll see how it goes.

My main goal is to support founders by offering a curated marketplace for buying and selling startups with ease. And we slowly but steadily go in that direction.

📈 Monthly update

February was a bit tough for us because revenue dropped by 30% and activity decreased by 20%. I think that’s because many people take vacations and prepare their taxes. Anyway, users chatted, so we'll see a few acquired projects soon.

Besides this, you can note that of 49 submitted listings, only 16 were published. That's because we are stricter with our listing rules. We accept only profitable projects because that's the main request from Premium buyers, and we listen to them.

My main goal is to create meaningful conversations. And this is possible only when intentions are aligned. Buyer motivation should be high to connect with founders and acquire projects; that's another reason we charge an annual contract. It sifts nonserious buyers, and sellers can be sure that every message is important.

On the other hand, we manually verify every seller and their listings so buyers can be sure to meet reliable people and not waste their time. And I want to admit it's a lot of work :)

🔎 Our review process

As you already know, before publishing any listings we do a manual review process to ensure quality on our marketplace. First of all, we check the profiles, and if they look genuine, all sellers must have a complete profile with names, avatars, and about info. People buy from people, so it's important.

After this, we thoroughly check all information from the submitted listing. We scan websites for viruses and check domain age. Then, we ask for revenue and traffic metrics and see if they prove the provided numbers. This ensures safety and quality. Of course, you must always do your own due diligence.

Besides the listings checklist, we also help with valuations. If the seller doesn't know what price to set, we can help and suggest a few options. This way, you can attract more serious buyers with offers and exit your startup quickly.

The acquisition process is complex, so we encourage sellers to prepare for it. Prepping P&L, metrics, project documentation, and other valuable documents will give you more chances of selling. After the negotiation phase, our customer support and transfer service will help you close your acquisition smoothly.

I’m so glad to come back to writing and working on this newsletter. It’s been 3 months since the last issue. My team and I have worked hard for the last 9 months on the “make an offer” feature to help you close acquisitions safely on the marketplace.

The main goal is to improve the experience and provide all tools and support needed to make the really hard acquisition process as smooth as possible. The main challenge is that there are many statuses and async actions between three parties: buyer, seller, and marketplace.

We recently sold a platform for pickleball called Paddle Party. It helped pickleball players in various cities connect with each other by participating in organized leagues.

At the time of the exit, Paddle Party had 1,900 customers and $91,466 in annual revenue. Most day-to-day tasks were handled by a virtual assistant (VA), with many processes automated through custom scripts. It was built using Python, Airtable, and AWS. 🤝 Make an offer is released

We worked on this feature for the last 9 months, and finally, it’s live. You can now make offers and close deals safely on the marketplace. Buyers can initiate offers to sellers, and sellers can either accept or reject them. We’ll handle agreements, invoices, payments, and payouts to make your life easier. Most processes are automated and have a convenient UI with detailed statuses.

When the seller accepts an offer, the listing becomes locked for other buyers until the acquisition is closed. It’s a great way to encourage other buyers to use this feature and ensure the deal for those who made an offer.

At the end of the flow, buyers and sellers can leave their reviews to each other and rate Microns support. We’ll automatically mark your listing as sold and update analytics on your profile. Later, we’ll add badges and average ratings to make profiles stand out.

I’m super happy that we implemented this functionality. When I started Microns three years ago, I only dreamt about it. We were just a directory site, but now we handle so many aspects of the acquisition. I’m grateful to my small but mighty team and everyone who supported us by being a loyal customer. From our side, we are working so hard to make the platform an awesome place for all founders around the world.

📈 Monthly update

November was an excellent month for Microns. We grew all of our major metrics, such as buyers, sellers, new listings, activity, and revenue. That's because more and more people are interested in high-margin, profitable online businesses.

Besides growth, my focus was on developing new offer features. These will allow startups to be purchased directly from the platform, making the marketplace safer and improving the UX for buyers and sellers.

In short, buyers will have a button called “Make an offer,” which will initiate the asset purchase flow: legal APA signing, invoicing, payment, asset transfer, payout, and review, all with personal support from our team.

We need more funds to develop and grow the platform further. Raising capital is not an option for me; I want to stay bootstrapped as long as possible. So, this functionality will open the doors to monetizing sellers. We'll charge sellers a success fee (6-10%) based on the deal's price when we release this update. Sellers will pay only if they sell with us, no listings fee.

On the buyer side, the subscription will stay to verify people + they pay for a high-quality deal flow they won't find anywhere else. This way, we can diversify our business model, making it a hybrid of commission and subscription. It will help me implement the roadmap (based on customer feedback) and let more awesome founders know about Microns.

I had my 27th birthday at the start of October, so I took time to relax and recharge. I’m glad to get back to work again.

🎉 Recently sold startup

Earlier in October, we sold a marketplace project called PixelBazaar. It helped designers and developers discover premium icons for their apps.

During the exit, PixelBazaar had 250 customers and $4,800 in annual revenue. It was built using Webflow and Flodesk. The project was sold for $7,000 (1.45x revenue multiplier). The seller sold a project to retire faster.

It’s a great example because the buyer and seller were a great fit. They both passionate about design and icons. Zlatko (seller) run this project since 2012, so for him, it was a big step. I believe the buyer will continue developing and capitalizing on the project. I’m glad we have buyers looking for marketplace projects besides micro-SaaS, mobile apps, and newsletters.

💰 From idea to exit

One of the core principles I follow in building Microns is transparency. That’s why I reworked our listing page for sold startups, so you can learn and get inspired by the story behind every acquisition.

This time, we have Shri, a founder from India, who sold his micro-SaaS in just 4 days and landed a $12k freelance project from one of the potential buyers on Microns, resulting in $18k deal. This story is so powerful that I recommend everyone to check it out. It showed me that our platform influences not only acquisitions but the job market too.

I love it when both buyer and seller win from the deal. And this is precisely the case. The buyer grew the project to around $2k MRR and is now looking to sell the project to acquire a bigger business. Based on my information, the buyer 4x the acquisition by operating ColdDM for a year, and he could at least 3x it after the sale, totaling 12x return.

I develop Microns to give founders and online entrepreneurs an alternative way of earning while living their independent remote lives. Imagine you can do things you like anywhere in the world and never worry about the money.

What motivates people? Of course, it’s the success of others. When I worked on this story, I got a few bumps of inspiration from Enoq. I like when founders don’t give up and continue to try until they reach this feeling of making it.

Most importantly, I learned from this story that you always need to celebrate all your wins, even the smallest. It makes you happier and helps you stay long-term in the game.

I enjoy how founders spend their funds after their exits. It helped me realize that I created a place where people can earn while building things they like. It's a massive mindset change.

I got married on August 3rd this month. I was born on October 3rd, so this date was easy to remember.

Since there was a war in my country, we had a modest wedding (we spent about $700 on everything). We decided not to invite anyone, only the photographer. We signed and went to take pictures. Now, we are officially a family.

I use the same principles of smart spending while running my businesses. You should only spend where it’s a life needed and where it will give you the best ROI. Of course, there may be emotional purchases and travels.

I believe in myself, investments in knowledge, and a debt-free life. I follow Kaizen philosophy in my life and business. It’s something that helps me evolve and make decisions easier. So find something you believe in and stick to it.

📈 Monthly update

July was an important month for Microns. It was a month of record revenue and the start of the most significant changes. Network effects started getting off the ground.

This month, I hired Oksana to help me with marketplace operations. We started working with our designer on asset purchase flow (the ability to make offers and close deals on the platform).

The more active people we get, the better. But my goal isn’t just to get a bunch of users. I want to build a safe place for founders and entrepreneurs. For me, less is more, so I’ll keep prioritising quality over quantity.

Some time ago, I had the idea of creating valuable and transparent content where founders who sold their projects on Microns could share everything, from idea, MVP, and growth to exact numbers. Stories that cover details you won't find anywhere, full of insights and real-life experience, that's how Success Stories were born.
