This, in turn, increases complexity and risks.
But, I didn’t want this. I wanted to keep my team small and make more money.
Then after reading a bunch of articles and the indie maker handbook
by Pieter Levels, I came up with the idea to build SaaS or some sort of revenue profitable app.
The main issue here is to find a product-market fit
. And I personally think it’s the major reason why a lot of startups fail.
So, I thought about buying an already working small app with a few customers that I can afford and experiment with.
This way, I found this addon
, analyzed competitors, demand, and concluded that it’s worth it.
Now, I totally rebuilt the design not only for the addon but for the landing page
. Previously, it looked basic and a little bit ugly. Functionality stayed the same.
My main takeaway. Buy projects with demand, don’t forget to analyze the market and competitors, start small, and don’t be scared of design. You can always rebuild it later.
