We bought one of our competitors
Hey guys.
I have some excellent news for you.
So far, in December, we crossed the 6k newsletter subscribers mark, 150 active buyers, and 140 active listings.
This week, I closed the deal and bought one of our competitors. IMO, it’s a great way to grow the audience and attract new people to the marketplace.
Besides this, I worked closely with my designer and developer to create the best chat experience for you.
And last but not least, Microns newsletter is read across 50 US states and 122 countries. Enjoy!

Now let’s crack on with the newsletter ☕️
🤝 We bought one of our competitors
A few weeks ago, I noticed that one of our competitors was planning to exit. It was one of my friends, so it was a matter of time before the acquisition would happen.
Everything started when I visited one of the NoCodeSale events. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I liked their auction-style form of events.
Some time went by, and their community has grown. Harold (founder) told me that after the summer, he didn't have time to work properly on NoCodeSale and wanted to sell it. We negotiated a deal and started the transaction in a few days.
By acquiring NoCodeSale, I got a newsletter with 478 subscribers, 43 sellers, 13 buyers, 42 active listings, 25 sold projects, a website, and other related assets. The sale was covered in the NoCodeExits newsletter, which gave me additional promotion.
With this acquisition, I want to attract more no-code tools and non-technical founders to Microns. It’s a part of my strategy to build a social marketplace where there would be tech and growth professionals.
This example shows that M&A is a great tool to grow and expand your startup.
💬 Communication rethought
This week, I worked on the messages feature for Microns v2. Communication is super important for marketplace businesses, so I added this feature to our release.
Currently, we send messages only through email, but sometimes it’s inconvenient. We had problems when sellers replied to our email instead of buyers’ or didn’t respond to the buyer's requests because the email got lost or landed in spam. Having our chat will solve all these issues.
I’m so happy with the design and functionality. It looks simple and great. The chat will have real-time features, simplifying how buyers and sellers communicate (you could upload docs and screenshots).
Also, when I launch our second version, would you be interested to know how much I spent on design and development? Let me know.
🎉 Recently sold startup
This week, we sold a newsletter called Mako. It helped marketers find high-paying remote jobs. The project had 725 email subscribers and $900 in revenue from sponsorships. The newsletter was built using Beehiiv.
The buyer and seller used our transfer service to complete the deal. The transfer was done in two days, and both sides were happy.
If you have a profitable startup, feel free to submit it, and we'll find you a buyer.
