Quality or quantity: What would you choose?
Hey guys.
This week my team and I completed a few milestones to improve the speed factor of our marketplace.
We developed utterly new navigation for our homepage and optimized site speed, so now it's blazingly fast. Besides this, we improved the speed of the concierge service, so you can make a deal in just two days (from contacting us to exchanging assets and money).
Then we analyzed one of our competitors and wrote a detailed comparison post that revealed good and bad from both platforms.
And lastly, I started working on a referral program for sellers. If you refer a new seller to Microns, you and the new seller get paid equally. I am still thinking about the incentive and how it will work.
P.S. I couldn't imagine that I'd have the possibility to travel in the Carpathians mountains during the war. However, that's possible because of Ukrainian troops, the government, and people who donated to Ukraine. Thank you all for your support in this difficult time.

🎉 Recently sold startup
Last week we successfully closed one more micro-acquisition. The transaction went smoothly because the buyer and seller agreed to use our concierge service. They needed to learn more about the acquisition process, so we explained everything in detail and answered every question. In addition, we helped with the legal part and the money exchange.
I like that more and more people have become educated in this niche. Because selling a startup is one of the stages in the lifecycle of the business, you build it, grow it, improve it, sell it, and so on.
Online entrepreneurs and small investors should know how to do it. The same as selling a car. But if they need help or an additional layer of security, they can use our concierge service we built specifically for micro-startup acquisitions (below $100k) to make the process simple and fast.
👀 We improved the navigation
We added navigation to keep all necessary things for buyers and sellers on the front page. It’ll simplify the discovery process for new users and be more convenient for old ones.
Also, we changed our Hero animation with an optimized custom static image, so the site became a bit faster. More awesome changes are coming soon.
🥊 Microns vs. Empire Flippers
This week we analyzed another competitor, Empire Flippers, and wrote our comparison post. We highlighted the strong and weak sides of both marketplaces and figured out that there are certain things that we have similar.
The most important thing is that both places focused on quality and vetting so hard that they have fewer listings than others (Flippa or Acquire), but the result is genuine businesses for sale.
The most significant difference I found is that Microns is about innovative small online startups (micro-SaaS, extensions, web and mobile apps). Still, the Empire Flippa is about already established $500k+ online businesses (e-commerce, content, and affiliate sites).
